Who We Are

Bakgatla-ba-Kgafela Traditional Community reside in South Africa's North West Province under the jurisdiction of the Moses Kotane Local Municipality in the vicinity of Sun City. This tribe has embarked on an extra-ordinary journey, which mainly focuses on creating a sustainable economy by using available resources to stimulate growth and development in the region. Sedibelo Community Development Trust (SCDT) is a sole owner of Bakgatla-ba-Kgafela Investment Holdings (BBKIH), the vehicle used to generate wealth for the community. The profits from BBKIH funds the developmental programme of the community through SCDT, a trust established for the benefit of the BBK Community.

Mandate

To leverage the assets in the Bakgatla-ba-Kgafela economic sphere to diversify, facilitate and improve local development. The commercial assets include land and its mineral wealth, human capital and other resources. BBKIH focuses on establishing relationships with investment partners in catalysing the activity in the Bakgatla-ba-Kgafela Master Plan pillars spurring employment and commercial opportunities in the economy.
